Christmas Through the Stargate SG-1 1.2 version 2

"Come on,I wanna get home!" Mitchell called.

Hurrying his packing,Daniel muttered under his breath.

"Really darling, that's not very nice."Vala smirked as
she packed his field notes.

"I don't see what the rush is,Christmas is still two days away." Daniel complained.

"Some of us have plans." Sam said gently.

Teal'c nodded in agreement.

"Maybe I have plans too,but I'm not shirking my job."
Daniel replied.

All three looked at him dubiously.

"Shows what you know." Daniel muttered packing his
camera.

"Tell us of your plans Daniel Jackson."

"Hurry.It.Up." Mitchell said impatiently as he
entered the temple.

"Really Cameron,you are becoming annoying."
Vala replied.

"Oh for the love of--" Mitchell groused and started
stuffing artifacts into Daniel's pack.

"Uh,you break it you buy it!" Daniel glared at him.

"Got plans for Christmas, gonna go home and see my
momma and daddy." Mitchell grinned.

Home,Daniel sighed, all his friends were going home
to see their families, even Vala was going to
spend Christmas with General Landry and
Dr. Lam,who seemed to have adopted her.

They were hustled out of the temple and toward the gate.

"Hey,you okay?" Vala asked Daniel who brought up
the rear.

"Everyone's going home." Daniel shrugged, all but
admitting he had no where to go home to.

"Surely General Landry wouldn't mind if you came too."

"Thanks, but no." Daniel wouldn't be a fifth wheel.

As they walked through the gate Daniel told himself
he had plenty of work to keep himself busy
over the holidays.

"Right on time. Get your post exam and change,we have
a plane to catch."

Gaping at Jack,Daniel was at a loss for words.

"And you weren't going home." Vala nudged with a grin.

Taking the hint Daniel handed off his pack and hurried
out.

Even I'm going home,to Jack's,Daniel smiled as he silently thanked his best friend
for remembering him this Christmas.
